3 Honda Vehicles Named U.S. News & World Report Best Cars for the Money

2021 Honda Odyssey | Avery Greene Honda | Vallejo, CA

Three Honda models have earned the top spot in their respective segments in the U.S. News & World Report 2021 Best Cars for the Money awards.* The 2021 Honda CR-V earned the compact SUV title, the 2021 Honda Odyssey came out on top of the minivan class, and the 2021 Honda Passport succeeded in the two-row SUV segment.

The Best Cars for the Money awards combine quality and value to determine which vehicles top their class. It measures quality with an overall score a vehicle receives in the U.S. News car rankings when the awards are published.

The 2021 CR-V is a crossover SUV that offers versatile space and efficient performance. It can seat up to five passengers, while also offering up to 75.8 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seats are folded down. Honda Sensing® driver-assistance features come as standard for peace of mind, and it can help you stay connected on the go with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration.

As a minivan, the 2021 Odyssey is family-oriented with room for up to eight passengers and cubic feet of cargo space. Family-friendly features for this model include the available CabinTalk® in-car PA system and the available CabinWatch® feature, which plays a live video of the back seat right on your touchscreen, so you don’t have to turn around to see what’s happening in the back seats.

The 2021 Passport was made with adventurous families in mind, with available all-wheel drive for off-road journeys and hidden storage cubbies throughout the cabin. It even comes with 2.5 cubic feet of underfloor storage that drains for dirty or wet gear you accumulate on the go.

2021 Honda Odyssey Upgrades Offer Family-Friendly Technology, Style

2021 Honda Odyssey | Avery Greene Honda | Vallejo, CA

Family-friendly rides often have to offer smart technologies, value, and comfort — and the 2021 Honda Odyssey looks to deliver on all three. For the 2021 model year, the Honda Odyssey sees several updates that make it an even more solid option for hauling your family around Vallejo, California.

A new design. The Odyssey has received a restyling both inside and out. Its front-end design has been completely revised, putting forth a more modern, sleeker silhouette. It comes with newly designed seats on the inside, along with new tri-colored floor mats and piano-black trim on the doors and dashboard.

More family-friendly tech. For the first time ever, the Odyssey now comes with a Rear-Seat Reminder system. This system lets you know if you have left something in the rear seats. It can even be integrated into the Odyssey’s available CabinWatch® system.

An upgraded Honda Sensing® system. This minivan still comes standard with the Honda Sensing® suite of safety technologies, and it’s seen some upgrades. Now, it can follow other cars at a set distance at low speeds. The emergency braking system has also improved, allowing it to brake for pedestrians and recognize traffic signs.

Even more luxury. On the Touring and Elite trims, the Odyssey now comes with a new third-row USB charging port. This means the minivan has up to five ports for charging devices. You will also get new perforated leather seats with contrast stitching and an exclusive dashboard trim on the Elite model.

2021 Honda Odyssey Debuts Industry-First Rear Seat Reminder Camera

2021 Honda Odyssey Rear Seat Reminder Camera

The Honda Odyssey is a solid option in the minivan segment, and it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon. For the 2021 model year, the Odyssey offers more family-friendly upgrades, from a fresh exterior redesign and premium interior appointments to more technologies — including an industry-first Rear Seat Reminder camera.

For the 2021 Honda Odyssey, the Rear Seat Reminder system will be integrated with the vehicle’s CabinWatch® rear-seat camera system. This means the system will prompt you to check your back seats before exiting the vehicle, first with an audible alert and also with a warning message on the driver’s display.

For the Touring and Elite trims, the system will also display the rear seating area on the Display Audio screen, giving you a view of your back seat — something no other Rear Seat Reminder system in the industry does.

Along with this new system, the Odyssey will come with more powerful, efficient LED headlights, a redesigned grill with a chrome strip, and a redesigned lower front fascia. Inside, it will have second-row seatbacks that will fold flat so you can easily remove them.

Honda has also updated the Odyssey’s Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assistance technologies, offering new features like Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow and Pedestrian Emergency Braking.
