Get Where You Need to Go with These Holiday Road Trip Travel Tips

Road Trip

Whether you’re heading over the river or through the woods to your parents’ house this year, it’s important that you stay safe on your way there. Keep these holiday road trip travel tips in mind as you head out to your holiday destination.

Plan ahead. Before you head out on the open road, make sure you map your route out in advance. Make sure you have any roadside assistance contact information in case you find yourself stranded on the side of the road, and make sure that you prepare yourself for any holiday traffic, since the holidays are a popular time of the year for road travel.

Get your car checked. You don’t want to get stranded on the side of the road with an overheated engine or other issue. Bring your car to the Avery Greene Honda service center for a routine check-up before your trip to ensure your car is in working order.

Remember common-sense rules. To keep yourself — and your family — safe throughout the trip, try to remember some important unwritten rules. Remind your children not to talk to strangers when you’re at rest stops and accompany them into the bathroom. Also, tuck any valuables away in your trunk or in a covered storage area to reduce the likelihood of a break-in.

Wherever you’re going, have a safe road trip and happy holidays!

2020 Honda CR-V Updates Focus on More Tech, Features

2020 Honda CR-V

The New Year is right around the corner, which means more 2020 models are popping up throughout the automotive industry, introducing new features and options to consumers — and the Honda CR-V is no exception. These are some of the 2020 Honda CR-V updates you can expect this year.

Brand-New CR-V Hybrid

For the 2020 model year, the CR-V is getting a new hybrid-electric model. There’s not a lot of information released about this fuel-efficient CR-V just yet, but we do know that it will have the brand’s two-motor hybrid system, allowing it to get better efficiency without power. More information about the CR-V Hybrid will be released closer to its release date, which is set for early in 2020.

New Features

The Touring trim will now come with a heated steering wheel and wireless smartphone charging, while the CR-V gets a more flexible cabin overall. The biggest change mechanically, though, can be seen on the LX trim level. This trim will no longer come standard with a 2.4-liter engine. Instead, it will come with a standard 1.5-liter turbocharged direct-injected four-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque, while also getting better fuel-efficiency numbers.

More Color Options

You now have the option to pick the color you want, thanks to three new exterior colors: Radiant Red Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, and Aegean Blue Pearl.

If you already loved the Honda CR-V, these updates will make you love it even more. Check out the refreshed SUV at Avery Greene Honda!
