Here’s a heart-warming piece of Honda news: this week, committed 105-year-old philanthropist Edythe Kirchmaier was given a brand new 2013 Honda Civic by an anonymous fan.
Edith, a devoted volunteer for California’s Direct Relief charity organization for the past 40 years, was given the Civic by a fan who noticed that she had been experiencing car troubles with her minivan. The car problems were keeping Kirchmaier from her philanthropy duties, for which she had become known through Facebook (at 105, she’s the oldest registered user!) and various other media channels.
Despite her age, Edith maintains an impeccable driving record: she’s been driving for 86 years without a single accident or violation, and she recently passed a driver’s license renewal with no issues.
Head over to Edith’s official Facebook page to learn more about her philanthropy efforts and more!
