Honda unveils Urban SUV Concept

Honda promised to deliver an exciting new small concept at the Detroit Auto Show, and it didn’t disappoint.

The dynamic and youthful concept unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show hints at the styling direction of an all-new small SUV set to be sold in Japan by the end of this year, and set to land in the U.S. next year.

“No one has had greater success with small cars than Honda, and this Urban SUV Concept will create new value in the growing small-SUV segment,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales at American Honda. “With the continued expansion of our North American manufacturing operations, we expect fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive ‘small’ cars to play a key role in meeting the needs of our customers in the U.S.”

The all-new small SUV will be based on the Urban SUV Concept and is expected to pack high fuel efficiency and space into a small package. Honda has also promised “next-generation telematics and a modern interior.”

2013 Honda Accord wows Consumer Reports testers

The 2013 Honda Accord is, once again, rated among the best mid-sized sedans. Consumer Reports magazine, a trusted name in auto reviews, picked the car as its top favorite mid-size four-cylindar.

Consumer Reports noted the model’s improvements over last year, and also praised its “roomy interior, frugal fuel economy, fun-to-drive character and an attractive combination of features and price.”

The Accord definitely lives up to the hype: with a 2.4-liter engine and continuously variable automatic transmission, the sedan earns 40 miles per gallon on the highway, with an average rating of 30 mpg. It features an updated, sporty exterior and plenty of space on the inside.
