2022 Honda HR-V Arrives at Avery Greene Honda

2022 Honda HR-V | Avery Greene Honda | Vallejo, CA

Shopping for a new crossover in Vallejo, California? Check out the 2022 Honda HR-V. Honda’s smallest SUV is here at Avery Greene Honda, and we want to point out some of its highlights this year.

Although nothing has changed from the 2021 HR-V to the 2022 model year, it’s still worth checking out the latest Honda HR-V. It bears many of the qualities that drivers in the San Francisco Bay area may find useful: high fuel efficiency, easy maneuverability, and a low starting price.

With a shorter wheelbase than some sedans in the Honda lineup, the HR-V is spacious without being large and bulky. Plus, its 2nd-Row Magic Seat® system lets you configure the rear row to collapse, lift, and lay flat as needed to accommodate large cargo items.

The HR-V conserves gas by using a four-cylinder engine with a fuel-saving Eco Assist™ System and efficient continuously variable transmission. This powertrain helps the 2022 Honda HR-V go easy on the gasoline when you’re stuck in stop-and-go traffic by the bridge.

You don’t have to worry about stability on the bay area’s hilly streets, though. Vehicle Stability Assist™ with Traction Control and Hill Start Assist are standard inclusions, giving the HR-V an extra boost when the wheels start to slip. And All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control System™ is a wise addition for extra stability when it’s raining.

We invite you to Avery Greene Honda, where you can take a test drive of the 2022 Honda HR-V and see if it meets your needs.

New Honda Model Interiors Will Prioritize Human-Centered Simplicity

2022 Honda Civic Interior | Avery Greene Honda | Vallejo, CA

Want a glimpse into what Honda has in store for its future models? Check out the video recently released by the automaker that reveals the brand’s new interior design philosophy.

As highlighted in this exciting announcement, future Honda models will be designed with a fresh approach in mind, specifically pertaining to their cabin layouts.

Explained by Johnathan Norman, Creative Lead for Honda Interior Design in the U.S., the new viewpoint is called “simplicity and ‘something.’” Simplicity puts focus on the perspective of the passengers by maximizing visibility through the windows and windshield. “And something” adds a particular uniqueness for each model to boost positive emotional response.

Although this sounds like a change in course, it’s not really a new approach for Honda. For years, the automaker has followed a similar “Man Maximum/Machine Minimum” approach that prioritized passenger satisfaction. “Simplicity and ‘something’” is just a return to this tried-and-true, human-centered strategy.

So, if you’re a fan of traditional Honda models that prioritize user experience over complexity and practicality over extravagance, we think you’ll like the design of future models coming to Avery Greene Honda in Vallejo, California. In the coming years, you’re going to see “simplicity and ‘something’” employed on Honda model interiors of the 11th generation Civic Sedan and family SUVs when they’re revamped for their next generations.

New Honda Brand Campaign Goes Rugged

Honda Ridgeline | Vallejo, CA | Avery Greene Honda

When you think “rugged,” you might not automatically think of Honda. The brand is looking to change that, though, with its newest brand campaign.

A new Honda brand campaign focuses on the bold capability that each of the Honda SUVs and truck has to offer. The first spot in the campaign focuses on the 2021 Passport and Pilot, including the Pilot Special Edition. It focuses on their on- and off-road capability, while also giving consumers a glimpse of the redesigned 2021 Ridgeline.

“Honda SUVs and trucks have always had excellent on-road manners and surprising off-road capabilities,” said Jay Joseph, vice president of Automobile Marketing, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “In a truck-trending market, we will showcase Honda SUVs and our pickup in environments that display the capabilities hidden beneath their sleek exteriors, demonstrating they can face most any challenge en route to that next great adventure.”

The new commercials are also the debut of the Honda brand’s new voice — actor and WWE superstar, John Cena. Cena’s voice will be used across all of the marketing for Honda cars and light trucks.

“I’m looking forward to this new relationship with Honda because I’ve always been a big fan of Honda products, and how deeply involved they are in the community,” said Cena.

Each model of the brand’s award-winning light truck lineup will appear in this new multi-channel brand campaign. It will also show off the company’s off-road powersports products, such as the Honda Talon sport side-by-side.

If you’re interested in learning more about this new campaign – and checking out the 2021 Honda lineup’s ruggedness for yourself — stop into Avery Greene Honda in Vallejo, California.

Honda Redirects Funds to Support HBCUs

HBCU | Avery Greene Honda | Vallejo, CA

When the 31st annual Honda Campus All-Start Challenge was cancelled at the end of March, Honda decided to rise to the occasion and use the funds allocated for that program in another way. Honda determined that giving back was the best way to use the money, joining together with 58 Historically Black Colleges and Universities to make the biggest community impact possible. With its support of these HBCUs, Honda hopes to help those in need during the ongoing pandemic.

“In these unprecedented times, our commitment to HBCUs is stronger than ever,” said Steve Morikawa, vice president of Corporate Relations and Social Responsibility at America Honda. “We know that recent events have presented challenges for HBCU communities, and we’re working closely with HBCU presidents and local leaders on ways to best serve their communities.”

The funds from this Honda commitment will help the COVID-19 relief initiative in a variety of ways. For instance, the HBCUs are using these funds to address specific needs in their communities, including food insecurity and medical support for the homeless, families, and senior citizens. The donations from Honda also help support frontline healthcare workers in HBCU communities by covering medical supplies and personal protective equipment.

Honda has provided $325,000 to HBCUs since May 1, allowing them to serve 108 organizations in 20 states.

Avery Greene Honda in Vallejo couldn’t be prouder to represent a brand committed to supporting communities in need.

Honda Face Shield Donation Gives 130,000 to Medical Staff

Face Shield For Medical Staff

As COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, Honda is taking a step towards helping support the healthcare workers who are on the front line. The Japanese carmaker recently made a donation of face shields to medical staff around the United States.

The Honda face shield donation will provide more than 130,000 shields to those that need it. The face shields were manufactured at Honda Engineering North America in Marysville, Ohio. This manufacturing plant used its existing plastic injection molding equipment to create the clear plastic face shields that are a vital part in protecting healthcare workers from the virus.

Honda of Canada Manufacturing is also helping produce these face shields, providing the frame needed to keep the shields on. The two companies have already created 70,000 face shields to 305 medical facilities in 45 states, and plan on making at least 60,000 more.

“It was a comprehensive effort with our Honda design and manufacturing teams working together to quickly solve this challenge,” said Eric Walli, regional planning leader of Honda North America. “We were looking at materials, doing scientific work to understand if what we put in a face shield would be safe for humans to wear, an all of this was occurring as we sought to rapidly begin and then ramp up production.”

Along with these face shields, Honda has also contributed in other ways. For instance, it turned multiple Odyssey minivans into coronavirus testing transport vans in Detroit.

Honda Ventilator Parts Created for Dynaflo

Ventilator Parts

Honda is lending a helping hand to those in need. The carmaker has started manufacturing and delivery vital parts for ventilators to Dynaflo Inc. of Reading, Pennsylvania. These Honda ventilator parts help Dynaflo produce their diaphragm compressors, which are a key component of portable ventilators, which are used in hospitals and by first responders throughout the United States.

Honda and Dynaflo have set a goal to produce 10,000 compressors per month when production reaches capacity, and will continue to do so through the end of August.

“Honda associates have successfully transformed a portion of our technical training center into an assembly line that will help support the urgent need to produce ventilator components,” said Rick Schostek, Executive Vice President, Honda North America, Inc. “With our supply of these key components to Dynaflo, we hope to help address one of the most pressing needs within the COVID-19 crisis.”

The production team for these parts has transformed 6,000 sq ft of the brand’s Technical Development Center in Marysville, Ohio, utilizing their production know-how to quickly ramp up production over the first few weeks. Honda associates are also working closely with Dynaflo personnel to ensure best practices in compressor assembly, allowing them to build and quality test the devices before they are shipped.

Thanks to Honda, thousands of first responders were able to get the ventilators they needed. If what you need is a car, though, then you should head on to Avery Greene Honda!
