Honda Awards | Avery Greene Honda | Vallejo, CA

As climate change continues to affect the environment, Honda is looking to continue its history of leadership in fuel economy and low CO2 emission ratings. The automaker was recently ranked as the most fuel-efficient full-line automaker in America, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The 2020 EPA Automotive Trends Report showed that Honda has the highest fleet average fuel economy among full-line automakers and the second-highest ranking overall with a lineup that has an average “real world” fuel economy of 28.9 miles per gallon (mpg). This is an improvement over the last five years of 1.9 mpg, and is also 4 mpg higher than the industry average for the 2019 model year.

Honda also has averaged CO2 emissions of 307 grams/mile, which is an improvement of 22 grams/mile when compared to 2014 results. This is 49 grams/mile better than the industry average for 2019 models.

For 2020, Honda also set an all-time record for electrified vehicle sales in America.

To help reduce CO2 emissions around the world, Honda is striving for two-thirds of its automobile sales to be electrified by 2030. It is also investing in its eco-friendly lineup, recently refreshing many of its hybrid models, including the Accord Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, and Insight.
