When you purchase a new car, it’s likely you want a car that will retain its value over time. That’s where the ALG Residual Value Awards* come in. Every year, these awards honor those vehicles that will hold the highest percentage of their Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). This year, Honda received the top spot in these awards in the Mainstream Brand category, highlighting the brand’s dedication to providing consumers with the best value possible.
“Strong residual values are the foundation of successful automotive brands,” said Eric Lyman, Chief Industry Analyst at ALG. “The residual value is important for consumers to take into consideration before making their next vehicle purchase because we know that depreciation is the single biggest cost of vehicle ownership.”
In addition to earning the title as the Best Overall Mainstream Brand, five Honda vehicles were also recognized in their respective segments. The 2020 Passport received the award in the Midsize Utility 2-Row category, while the Pilot was recognized in the Midsize Utility 3-Row category.
Along with these two models, the Accord took the top spot in the Midsize Car for the third consecutive year, while the 2020 Odyssey retained its first-place spot in the Minivan category. Finally, the Subcompact Car segment was won by the 2020 Fit for the sixth year in a row.
