Redesigned Honda CR-V

Arriving at Avery Green Honda later this month is the all-new 2017 Honda CR-V. This redesigned Honda CR-V ushers in the fifth generation of the model, which made its debut in 1995. Some of the updates on the new CR-V include new styling, more technology, and new engines.

Take a Look Inside

Inside, buyers will find premium materials throughout the cabin, especially on the higher trim levels. Features like stitched seats, soft-touch panels, leather upholstery, and a driver’s memory seat will make the cabin feel like an oasis.

Ease of Convenience

There are also several convenience features that will make the CR-V even more enjoyable. These include a physical volume knob for the audio system, a hands-free tailgate, remote engine start, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

An Outside look

With crisp lines along the front end and muscular fenders, the new CR-V has a solid look. In the back, there is a new, distinctive LED taillight pattern.

A Look Under the Hood

Under the hood, the CR-V comes equipped with either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder on the base trim or a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder on all other trims. Both engines are paired with a CVT.

HondaVAC Sweeps Away the Competition for the 2014 Odyssey

It’s one of those ideas that’s so brilliant and obvious that you are dumbfounded it’s taken someone this long to think of it—a built-in vacuum cleaner for a minivan. But Honda—thanks to inspiration from an engineer’s daughter—has finally done it: the HondaVAC comes standard on the Touring Elite model of the 2014 Honda Odyssey, and as Honda’s extensive marketing campaign is proving, they’re quite proud of it.

“Nobody else has a vacuum,” gloated Tom Peyton, Honda’s associate vice president of advertising. “Finding a point of differentiation [for minivans] can be tough, so shame on us if we don’t run with it.”

And run with it, they have. Honda has released several new commercials, using celebrity voice talents to tout the new vacuum. One commercial even features Neil Patrick Harris and Rainn Wilson, and Honda has hinted that more commercials are on their way.

Honda has also been aggressively hyping up the vacuum on Twitter: the automaker has been tweeting smack talk messages to other companies and products about how the HondaVAC will “wipe the floor” with them, if you will. This article compiles most of Honda’s Twitter trash talk.

Overall, it’s a funny, effective marketing scheme that—dare we say it—actually gives the minivan, or at least the 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite, some major cool points. Come by Avery Greene Honda in Vallejo and drive the Odyssey for yourself today!
