Acura TLX

Honda Begins Production of All-New 2015 Acura TLX in Ohio

Honda may be a Japanese automaker, but with the start of production of the all-new 2015 Acura TLX at Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, over 90% of the Acura lineup sold in America is actually also built right here in the United States. The 2015 Acura TLX, Acura’s all-new luxury sedan, brings all kinds of style, convenience, and technology to the luxury market, and we know that American luxury car customers can’t wait to get behind the wheel.

Acura TLX

Honda has started production of the 2015 Acura TLX in Marysville, OH.

“The start of mass production of the TLX marks a new era for our Acura sedan lineup,” said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president and general manager of Acura. “The TLX is built in a world-class facility with a world class workforce and we can’t wait to get this thrilling sedan into the hands of our customers in just a few short weeks.”

The new TLX comes with two separate but equally awesome engines, both with direct injection technology—a 2.4L four-cylinder with 206 horsepower and the bigger 3.5L V6 with 290 horsepower. If you’re looking for an awesome new luxury sedan, come see us here at Avery Greene Honda to check out our lineup—and check back on our blog for updates early and often.

Honda Performance Development Works with University Engineer Programs

Honda Performance Development (HPD) is partnering with university Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) programs to offer students the unique opportunity to join the Honda Racing Line.

Through this partnership, students have access to HPD racing products, original equipment replacement parts, and the expertise of professional technicians.

“We are delighted to be offering memberships in the Honda Racing Line to universities involved with collegiate-level SAE programs,” said Jeff Barrow, Manager of Commercial Motorsports for HPD.

“Both HPD and our parent company, American Honda, have long been associated with the SAE and the organization’s student competitions. Many current HPD associates participated in Formula SAE and similar programs during their university years,” he added. “Now these programs will have access to our performance product lines as well as our talented technical support.”

We at Avery Greene Honda get excited about opportunities like these for today’s younger generations. We expect these students will play a large part in transforming the auto industry for the better over the next several years.

For more information about joining the Honda Racing Line, university SAE administrators can call 661.702.7845.

2014 Honda Odyssey

The 2014 American-Made Index Includes 3 Honda Vehicles

Every year, Cars.com releases the American-Made Index, which rates “vehicles built and bought in the U.S” on factors that “include the percentage of parts considered domestic under federal regulations, whether the car is assembled in the U.S., and U.S. sales.” Under these rules, obviously, it’s not just the Detroit Big 3 that’s eligible to be named one of the best American-made cars. In fact—Honda happens to boast three vehicles on the 2014 American-Made Index, a ten-car list.

2014 Honda Odyssey

The Honda Odyssey was named one of the most American-made cars by Cars.com!

The Honda Odyssey, which is built in Lincoln, Alabama, comes in at number three on the list, while the Honda Ridgeline and Crosstour slide in at numbers 8 and 9, respectively. The Ridgeline is also built in Lincoln, but the Crosstour is assembled up in East Liberty, Ohio. Honda’s strong presence in North American manufacturing has helped North American sales as well—Honda sold a total of 129,023 Honda and Acura vehicles in June 2014 alone.

So, when you’re brimming with patriotism this Fourth of July weekend, remember that just because Honda’s headquarters aren’t in the States doesn’t mean it’s an un-American brand. In fact, if we dare to say it, we think you just might find that Honda is even more American than those other brands that pretend to bleed red, white, and blue.

Come see us at Avery Greene Honda to buy a truly American-made vehicle today!

Honda Rearview Camera

Honda Sole Automaker to Receive Highway Safety Hero Award

Honda has been named a “Highway Safety Hero” by the Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety—the only company to receive the honor in 2014.

The automaker’s application of safety and driver assistive technologies as standard equipment has helped Honda’s commitment to improving safety for all road users stand out in the U.S. automotive industry.

Honda Rearview Camera

Over 94% of US Honda vehicles sold in 2013 had rearview cameras, making the OEM a Highway Safety Hero.

For example, more than 94% of Honda and Acura models sold in the U.S. in 2013 were equipped with standard rearview cameras, a feat no other automaker has been able to match then or even in 2014. By the 2015 model year, all Honda-made models will be standard with rearview cameras.

Other driver assistive technologies now featured as standard equipment in most Hondas include Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning, which helps reduce accidents by preventing them from ever happening. Honda now also offers an Expanded View Driver’s Mirror and LaneWatch display to help improve driver visibility.
