2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

Two Honda Vehicles Awarded Place on 10 Best Green Cars List

Throughout the car industry, more and more carmakers are rushing to become the leader in the eco-friendly, green car segment. Honda appears to be two steps ahead of the competition, though, after KBB.com announced that both the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid and the 2014 Honda Civic Natural Gas are on their list of the 10 Best Green Cars of 2014.

“For customers looking to purchase vehicles that have low CO2 emissions, Honda has two great options on KBB.com’s list—the fun-to-drive, fuel efficient Accord Hybrid and the Civic Natural Gas powered without a drop of gasoline,” said Steven Center, vice president of the Environmental Business Development Office at American Honda Co., Inc. “This recognition from Kelley Blue Book validates the efforts of Honda engineers who for decades have continued to work towards out goal to leave ‘Blue Skies for our Children.’”

These awards come as no surprise for those critics and consumers who have driven these two cars. The Accord Hybrid is known for its excellent performance skills and an EPA-estimated 50 mpg city fuel economy, while the Civic Natural Gas makes a lasting impression with its use of clean-burning fuel, saving consumers up to 40% in estimated fuel costs compared to a gasoline-powered car.

Honda Fit

2015 Honda HR-V is a Fit Crossover, and That’s About All We Know

Everybody is more than a little excited about the 2015 Honda Fit, and with good reason: it stands to be one of the most exciting small cars on the market this year. While the Fit represents Honda at the pinnacle of small car mastery, the all-new 2015 Honda HR-V will express Honda’s potential to dominate the compact SUV market.

The all-new Honda HR-V will be a CUV offshoot of the Honda Fit!

“Both Fit and HR-V demonstrate how great things can come in small packages, and no one does this better than Honda,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda automobile division for American Honda, in a press release. “Together these models also represent Honda’s step-by-step expansion of our production in the region, which has been key to our success in America for more than 30 years.”

So what do we know so far about the HR-V? It shares a lot of its bones with the Fit, with both being built on the same platform. It’s something of a riff off of the Urban S.U.V. that appeared in New York at this same time last year, and based on the pictures we’ve seen, it looks quite sharp.

That, as they say, is the story so far. There were no specs released, though we could assume that the HR-V will get the same four-cylinder engine that will power the sporty fit. We do know that Honda has projected for a winter release…oh, how cruel is Honda to make us think that there will be a next winter.

We will have more information on the 2015 HR-V as it becomes available to your trusted Avery Greene Honda bloggers.

Honda’s reputation for quality, reliability and fun-to-drive continues to resonate with buyers of all ages.”

New Honda NM4 Motorcycle Inspiration from Hollywood

Admit it: last time you watched any of the Chris Nolan Batman trilogy, you found yourself thinking, “Man I want to drive that thing,” whenever Batman got behind the wheel of one of his various Batmobiles. If you’re like us here at Avery Greene Honda, though, you might be especially interested in the motorcycles, like the one that Catwoman drives around toward the end of The Dark Knight Rises. You’re in luck: here comes Honda with the new NM4 motorcycle.

While the NM4 actually takes a lot of its design inspiration from the Akira universe—something that will be familiar to any fans of Japanese manga or anime out there—with its gracefully bulky, black sculpture, the NM4 would look totally at home in a Nolan movie. The NM4’s keywords during design included “COOL” and “the Neo-futuristic,” and the finished exhibition model certainly delivers.

The new bike debuted at the 2014 Osaka Motorcycle Show; actually, Honda brought two different exhibition models along, an all-black one as well as one with white accents. We’re still waiting for word on when exactly this innovative new bike will hit the market, so make sure to check back with us often on the blog for updates. For now, simply enjoy these great photos of the brand new NM4!
