Get a Good Look: The 2016 Honda Civic Reveal

2015 Honda Civic Sedan

Current Honda Civic Sedan Available at Avery Greene Honda

The new 2016 Honda Civic design has officially been revealed thanks to CivicX.com and its ability to dig up patent drawings from Honda. The drawings reveal what both the coupe and sedan style Civics will look like…and we’re excited!

The Civic Coupe concept that originally debuted at the New York Auto Show earlier this year gave us some insight as to what the new production model would look like. Now, according to the drawings, the new Civic will keep some of the elements from the New York concept, which definitely makes us happy! In addition, it will feature more angular headlamps and front fascia, but the tail lamps will not be much different.

If you’re interested in breaking down all of the differences concerning the 2016 Honda Civic reveal, check out the side-by-side of the patent drawings and the concept that debuted in New York.

In any case, we’re excited for the 2016 Civic to arrive here at Avery Greene Honda and we hope you are too!

Boxy Honda Concept D Debut Occurs in Shanghai

HondaHonda revealed an all-new concept model at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this month, showcasing what could likely be a future production vehicle. This bold crossover concept, called “Concept D,” has the aggressive, boxy front of a truck with the slim, angular body of a crossover.

The truck look continues with the Concept D’s huge 21-inch wheels. It doesn’t appear to have an exhaust tip, however, so many are speculating the model will be an electric car.

While we don’t know what exactly this concept could precede, we are hoping that it does go to production, and further–that the production model hits US markets. The Honda Concept D debut in Shanghai leads us to believe it will be China-only, but fingers crossed!

Here’s a gallery of the concept, so you can check it out for yourself. What do you think of the Honda Concept D? Share your thoughts with Avery Greene Honda in the comments.

Say Goodbye to the Crosstour, Hello to the HR-V Replacing the Crosstour

Last call: this is your last chance to purchase a new Honda Crosstour as production of the model will cease after the 2015 model year. As we say goodbye to the Crosstour, we look forward to saying hello to the all-new Honda HR-V.

2015 Honda HR-V

2015 Honda HR-V

Built at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, discontinuing production of the Crosstour enables the plant to take on production of more of Honda’s popular models, like the Accord and CR-V as well as other vehicles from its sister company, Acura.

Said executive vice president of American Honda Motor Company, John Mendel, “The Crosstour, introduced in 2010, served a positive role in helping the Honda brand target crossover buyers. However, the crossover segment has evolved and we believe the all-new 2016 Honda HR-V launching later this spring will create new value for crossover shoppers…”

The HR-V, is the ultimate crossover, featuring the exterior styling of a coupe and the interior space of an SUV. The vehicle joins the Honda lineup as the smallest crossover designed to zip around city streets.

For more information on either the 2015 Crosstour or the 2016 HR-V replacing the Crosstour, don’t hesitate to contact us here at Avery Greene Honda. But don’t wait too long; the clock is ticking down for the Crosstour.

The Honda S660 Size Is Scaled Down but the Fun Factor Is Dialed Up

Good things come in small packages, which is the idea behind the newly-unveiled Honda S660 roadster. The styling of this diminutive two-seater carries forward the legacy of the Honda S2000 nose with an aggressive roadster back end and the low, wide stance gives way to the removable top and sculpted deck lid. The sporty look belies the mid-engine minicar’s lightweight construction and crisp handling.

The S660 mini-car receives its name from its tiny 660cc engine producing 63 horses. Although that sounds like very little power, the engine size is proportional to the actual Honda S660 size, which is only 134-inches in length. Honda dialed up the fun with all-wheel disc brakes and by giving the body a lightweight aluminum-and-steel body and frame. This provides the S660 with more rigidity than the Honda S2000, while shedding hundreds of pounds off the car to emphasize its engine’s power.

The little sportster is only sold in Japan, and a US version has not yet been announced. Be sure to stay informed on all things Honda—big and little—with Avery Greene Honda.

Honda Civic Type R’s Nurburgring Lap Time Trounces Old Record

In stunning fashion, the Honda Civic Type R officially clobbered its past Nurburgring lap time and crushed stereotypes about a front-wheel drive in the process. The upcoming 2015 Civic Type R posted a lap time of 7:50.63, beating the previous front-wheel drive record of 7:54.36.

Honda released the video of the Civic Type R’s lap time and it will surprise you as much as it did anyone else. The turbocharged Type R generates 306 horsepower and has a top speed of nearly 170 mph; it’s outfitted with a three-pedal manual gearbox.

The Honda Civic Type R’s Nurburgring lap time is only 10 seconds off of the pace of the Porsche Cayman GT4 and 30 seconds off of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

Although the Honda Civic Type R is only bound for Europe we at Avery Greene Honda still love it just as much! If you want to see the full video of the Civic Type R’s Nurburgring lap time check out the video below.

Year of Honda Continues with Upgraded 2016 Honda Pilot Launch

The Honda brand has officially claimed 2015 as the “Year of Honda,” and so far, the brand’s product lineup is doing an excellent job backing that claim. After the new Honda CR-V was named the 2015 Motor Trend SUV of the Year, a new 2016 Honda Pilot further bolstered the Honda SUV lineup. The new Pilot premiered at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

The Pilot retains the formula which has made the full-size, three-row SUV so popular, but adds tweaks in all the right places. For example, it comes with new Earth Dreams Technology powertrains, LED headlights, running lights, and taillights, and a panoramic roof option.

“This means the all-new Pilot will comfort, entertain and assist active families in all aspects of their lives, whether it’s an evening out for two, a road trip adventure for all or just the chores of everyday life,” summed up Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of Honda Division, at the 2016 Honda Pilot launch.

The Honda Pilot is chock-full of technology as well, helping you keep the whole family entertained, either on long trips or just riding home from school. You’ve got the Display Audio system, the HondaLink connected-car system, and even a 9” entertainment system with Blu-Ray capability. Come see us at Avery Greene Honda to learn more about the Year of Honda.

Honda Alternative Fuel Civics

2015 Honda Civic

The 2015 Honda Civic lineup is growing, offering more options than ever before—and it looks like they’re only going to get greener. Joining the already-released Civic Sedan, Civic Coupe, and Civic Si are the 2015 Civic Hybrid and Civic Natural Gas. These two Honda alternative fuel Civics provide consumers with fuel-efficient choices when considering the Civic model, all for a low price.

The Civic Hybrid boasts an impressive EPA-rated fuel rating of 45 miles per gallon combined, while the Civic Natural Gas boasts a 31 mpg combined fuel rating. Because of their impressive fuel economy, the American Council for Energy-Efficient Economy recognized these two vehicles as part of the top ten Greenest Vehicles of 2014. But these Civic models aren’t just fuel-efficient—they offer plenty of sophisticated features, too.

These features include a 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio, which helps view and control a variety of systems including audio, phonebook, media, and vehicle information. It’s also the platform for HondaLink. A rearview camera comes standard on all Civics, while a Smart Entry with Push Button Start helps the Civic Hybrid start with ease.

With all these features and terrific fuel economy, there’s no denying that the Honda alternative fuel Civics are a great way to save on fuel costs. Stop in to Avery Greene Honda to see what these models have to offer.

Honda’s 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon Lineup Promises Bold Entries

Honda's 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon LineupHonda has officially announced its impressive lineup for the upcoming 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon, an annual auto show, which will take place this year from January 9th through 11th. However, secretive as always, a few vehicles are still being kept under wraps.

Of the announced, the vehicle that easily stands out the most is the “Cyber Concept N-Box Slash Code: 89” a highly customized model of the recently released N-Box Slash supercompact. With this boxy vehicle, Japanese customizers pay a cheeky tribute to American car culture.

At the show, Honda will also feature “a Vezel (HR-V in North America and Europe) designed by Japanese fashion company ‘Samantha Thavasa’, Mugen versions of the Legend, Grace and Fit RS, racecars and a number of motorcycles,” according to CarScoops.

We at Avery Greene Honda can’t wait to see all of Honda’s 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon lineup, only wishing that we could be there in person. What about you? Lets know your thoughts in the comments.
