2016 Honda Civic

2016 Honda Civic

Early this month, the 2016 Honda Civic joined three of its fellow models on the 2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ list. The new Accord Sedan and Coupe, the CR-V, and the Pilot were also named to this list. The Top Safety Pick+ rating is given to vehicles that earn an “Advanced” or “Superior” score on their front crash test.

The Civic Sedan, also deemed the 2016 North American Car of the Year, offers a wide range of safety features in addition to receiving excellent crash test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Civic includes the Honda Sensing technology suite, which raises the bar for the compact car class. This suite includes driver assist technologies like a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and several others.

Civic Sedans also come with Stability Assist with Traction Control, a rearview camera, and its Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, which gives it unbeatable strength in crash situations. No wonder the Civic is considered one of the safest cars on the road!

Honda Sweeps Up Eight 2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Ratings

2016 Honda Pilot – An IIHS Top Safety Pick+

It’s an important time of year for the auto industry. Now’s the time when the big-talkers are separated from the big-doers, the haves from the have-nots: it’s safety award season. And, Honda’s just cleaned up big-time.

Honda took home a whopping eight IIHS Top Safety Pick+ ratings for its Honda and Acura models, pushing them to the forefront of the industry.

Every year, the IIHS (or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) rates all vehicles in terms of their overall safety and reliability. The two coveted titles, the IIHS Top Safety Pick and the IIHS Top Safety Pick+, indicate to consumers that a vehicle is top-notch in terms of crashworthiness and security. To earn a Top Safety Pick rating, a vehicle must be named “Good” or better in all five crashworthiness categories, and for that amazing little plus-sign (meaning they’ve gone above and beyond the IIHS’s strict safety standards), a vehicle must also score an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating in front crash prevention.

The eight winning Honda models are the Honda Accord Sedan and Coupe; the Honda CR-V; the Honda Pilot; the Acura ILX and RLX sedans; and the Acura MDX and RDX SUVS.

Honda Civic Wins Overall KBB Best Buy Award

The all-new Honda Civic recently received top honors from Kelley Blue Book (KBB). The KBB Best Buy Awards are given to vehicles that exceed in performance, efficiency, styling, technology, affordability, and more. It’s no wonder the Civic took home the gold.

According to Honda, the 2016 Civic topped the Overall Winner category; however, there were also some winners in other categories. The Civic also won the Small Car category, the CR-V won the Small SUV category, the Pilot took the Mid-Size award, and the Odyssey dominated the Minivan category.

Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division, stated, “This prestigious award from KBB.com helps current and future buyers with their purchase decisions and further solidifies the notion that for customers who purchase a Honda, be it a car or a light truck, they are making an ‘overall’ smart choice.”

The KBB Best Buy Award was specifically given to the new Civic because it is a market-leader in every segment. It is new and updated, with a fresh exterior and interior, the best in safety, tons of features, and fantastic performance. What’s not to like about the new Civic?

Three 2015 Honda Vehicles named Best Family Cars by Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com

Each year, Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com join forces to create the definitive Best Family Cars list. This year, once again, Honda has a strong presence on that list with three different 2015 Honda vehicles earning the distinction. The Honda Accord, CR-V, and Fit all made the top ten list of Best Family Cars by Parents Magazine.

2015 Honda Accord

2015 Honda Accord

All three of these vehicles also earned a top safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and are all equipped with a standard rearview camera. Those safety features combined with Honda’s overall excellent design, reliable reputation, and technological innovations made these vehicles easy choices for the Best Family Car list. The awards also show the diversity of the Honda lineup—with a subcompact car, sedan, and SUV all making the list.

The Accord earned a place on the list for the third straight year, while the Honda Fit and CR-V were honored as a best budget car and a best crossover for families, respectively. All three vehicles come with tons of great features, many of them all new for the 2015 model year, so come see Avery Greene Honda to learn more about the lineup . With EarthDreams engine technology, elegant design, and fun and convenience for all, the Honda lineup is quite simply the best in the world.

Say Goodbye to the Crosstour, Hello to the HR-V Replacing the Crosstour

Last call: this is your last chance to purchase a new Honda Crosstour as production of the model will cease after the 2015 model year. As we say goodbye to the Crosstour, we look forward to saying hello to the all-new Honda HR-V.

2015 Honda HR-V

2015 Honda HR-V

Built at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, discontinuing production of the Crosstour enables the plant to take on production of more of Honda’s popular models, like the Accord and CR-V as well as other vehicles from its sister company, Acura.

Said executive vice president of American Honda Motor Company, John Mendel, “The Crosstour, introduced in 2010, served a positive role in helping the Honda brand target crossover buyers. However, the crossover segment has evolved and we believe the all-new 2016 Honda HR-V launching later this spring will create new value for crossover shoppers…”

The HR-V, is the ultimate crossover, featuring the exterior styling of a coupe and the interior space of an SUV. The vehicle joins the Honda lineup as the smallest crossover designed to zip around city streets.

For more information on either the 2015 Crosstour or the 2016 HR-V replacing the Crosstour, don’t hesitate to contact us here at Avery Greene Honda. But don’t wait too long; the clock is ticking down for the Crosstour.

2015 Honda Odyssey

Honda CR-V and Odyssey Stand Out Among the 2015 Best Cars for Families

2015 Honda Odyssey

2015 Honda Odyssey

The Honda CR-V and Honda Odyssey have been named among the 2015 Best Cars for Families by US News & World Report.

This is the fifth year in a row the Odyssey has been selected as the Best Minivan for Families, while the CR-V—which has just been significantly refreshed—bodes well for families interested in a compact SUV.

The two models offer a long list of standard and optional family-friendly features, including Earth Dreams Technology, Honda Sensing, and—our personal favorite at Avery Greene Honda—the highly-acclaimed “HondaVAC” in-vehicle vacuum cleaner in the Odyssey Touring Elite.

At the heart of both vehicles, however, is just plain old automotive excellence, regardless of their own unique features. A smooth and efficient powertrain, enhanced safety equipment, and ride quality place the Odyssey and CR-V at the top of the list for any family seeking new transportation.

“Recognition from the Best Cars for Families awards for our top-selling CR-V and Odyssey demonstrates that the Honda brand values align with the needs of family buyers in terms of performance, fuel efficiency and safety performance,” said Jeff Conrad, Honda division senior vice president and general manager.

2015 Honda CR-V

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has confirmed the new Honda CR-V is a 2015 Top Safety Pick+, the highest honor a vehicle can strive for in terms of safety.

Becoming a Top Safety Pick+ is no easy feat for any vehicle. The Honda CR-V had to score the highest possible rating of “good” in four of the IIHS’s crashworthiness evaluations—moderate front, side, roof, and head restraint—as well as a “good” or “acceptable” rating in the recently-added, rigorous small overlap front crash test.

It also needed to achieve a superior or advanced rating for frontal crash prevention, which it earned thanks to the new Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver assistive technologies. With helpful features like Forward Collision Warning and Lane Keeping Assist System, drivers behind the wheel of a Honda CR-V are not only safer but even less likely to crash in the first place!
