You know what they say—if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But the truth is, even if your car doesn’t seem to be begging for help now, it might do well with a little extra care. Avery Greene Honda recommends that you get your car ready for spring so that it runs well and looks great all throughout the warmer seasons.
Get A Checkup
It’s important to get your oil changed every three months or so, and the beginning of spring is a great time to do it. This will also give your mechanic a chance to look over the rest of vehicle and to check things like brake fluids and wheel alignment, which may need some attention after a long, hard winter.
Clean the Exterior
If you have a busy schedule like most people, you know that it’s tempting to just hope that the rain will clean your car as much as it needs it. However, much of your car—and especially the undercarriage—may have built up road salt from the winter. This can ultimately cause corrosion and rusting if left on for too long. Use a power wash to clean underneath, and a soapy towel to scrub off grime.
Get New Wipers
April showers are no lie, and you’ll want to be prepared for them. Spring is a great time to get new wipers so that you’ll have the best possible visibility for safe driving when the rain starts to pour.
